BNSF derailment forces Amtrak cancellations, detours
I came east on #6 past the derailment on Sunday afternoon May 6th. Then east of the derailment site we had to stop for about an hour due to Tornado warnings. It would be interesting to know if anyone has experience or done an evaluation of whether a Tornado could cause superliner cars to tip over. As I sat in the upper level of the superliner lounge looking at the wind, fast moving clouds, lightning and rain pelting the car it might have seemed prudent to move to the lower level snack bar.
Wow if my computer wasn’t broken then i could of found this out and saw the south west chief go by
