BNSF lines

I was wondering who lives near any BNSF tracks, whether they be main line, other lines, or yards. As well, if anyone lives in NM close to Abo Canyon?

I am taking a particular interest in that area of BNSF’s main Transcon, and the next area is the Powder River region.

I am hoping to take a rail trip sometime this winter, and wonder if there’s any other interesting sites in NM, AZ and or CA?

Two questions, Roger:-

  1. Where are you starting from? Home (and that’s located where?)? Airport and rental car? Or better yet, which Amtrak station and rental car?

  2. How far do you plan to travel from that starting point?
