Just what they need, more sight seers. All he wants is another photo op. for his campain.
The train should have a double benefit, since it will be available to assist if the Waldo fire encroaches upon the twin right of ways and it would also be available should an incident occur along the tracks elsewhere in the area.
Another approach would be a big old party for the cadets of the Air Force Academy and the soldiers at Fort Carson. Then you put them in a string of gondolas and let nature take its course.
God Bless all those trying to help; inlcuding the RR; it makes me happy to hear they are doing this (the BNSF)…
Sounds like the makings of a “Trains” article
Got an itinerary/route/schedule?

Being a fire apparatus buff in addition to a railfan, I too would like to see photos.
It would be nice to have pictures of this fire training.
i AGREE, BEING A MODEL RAILROADER AS WELL AS A FIRE BUFF, I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SEE SOME PHOTOS. MAYBE THIS IS SOMETHING THAT COULD BE MODELED FOR US CLUB MEMBERS HAVING PICTURES TO WORK OFF OF.
Would be neat to see some pictures of this equipment. Being a retired (49 years) wildland, structure and aircraft crash fire officer and a railfan/railroader, i’m always interested in railroading and firefighting. I have a lot of interest in railroad fire trains because I lived and worked next to the SP/Donner route. Worked with the SP Fire Trains on several wildland fires (Placer and Nevada Counties, California)!
Too bad O’bambam doesn’t have the common sense to stay home. Another idiot onlooker hanging around (and stretching the police , who are badly needed other places, to the limits, to protect his sorry [expletive deleted]) Why doesn’t he stay home and watch it on the news (or his spy satelites) like the rest of us. Quit spending our country into another Greek delima.
Bravo BNSF for bringing the fire train to Colorado. Now, it would be nice if they didn’t charge for the usage of this train.
Guess Volheye has too much time on his hands. What a dilemer.
Too bad Jay from OR uses the fire to criticize the president. I can tell you as someone living in the state, I greatly appreciate his personal attention to the seriousness of the fires in CO. Call it “politics” if you want to but it is something that presidents of any party should do.
try

for video of the fire train.
I’m a firefighter, and that’s just cool
I am also a model railroader and would like to see the pictures of the fire train
