David Garin, you need to make a BNSF commercial (ala CSX) that trains are the environmentally responsible way to ship Brakken and oil sands oil- in the process of developing American jobs.
Does anyone remember the coal slurry pipeline dream from the 70’s? (Raiding fresh water from an already arid area to transport PRB coal.) That should be rehashed as well because the railroads avoided that environmental debacle.
hooray for branson scenic
No pipeline is needed, from anywhere to anywhere. The railroads can and will do a better job.
Could not find Fred Frailey’s “Oil Trains in the Wheat Fields”
(May 2012) article to leave a comment there - so I will leave it here.
Fred’s article gives a new meaning to the “Buffett Rule” - he who owns the rails (and makes the political donations) ‘rules’.
At $ 7 per barrel transport cost, the rail in the shale will bring in $ 1.9 billion annually; at $ 10 per bbl revenues are $ 2.7 billion annually.
