BNSF power short?

Tell me about it I just saw an EB stack train with a GP30 a gp35 and a sd 45-2 as its power not a Dash-8-9 to be seen anywere

I spent Saturday morning Williams Arizona by the big BNSF crew change on the the Trans Con. All dash 9’s on mostly intermodal stuff. I got to see around a dozen or so trains. There were a few vistors on the line, a few from NS, and I thought I saw a CSX, but still Dash 9’s. Except for one treat, a steel coil train came through with 5 SD40’s pulling the grade like no one’ss business.

How do you know that for fact? Somebody in the power dept of the BNSF tell you that? In my last trip to the joint UPRR/BNSF lines in California I DID NOT see one BNSF loco on the UPRR however I did see 1 UPRR loco on the BNSF. That is after seeing way over 100 trains. Where does your info come from concerning your post? What facts do you have to back that up?

All railroads today are running power short and are running everything they can get their hands on reguardless of power hours. The leaseing companys are going nuts trying to keep up with demand.

I saw that stack train with BNSF 2966 that night.I also saw an eastbound stack that day with a GP15-1 in the lead with a GP38 and a GP35 for the second and third engine. It isn’t uncommon to see all GP’s on a stack train, it happens alot on the Aurora Sub.

The day before I saw a hot Z train with 4 SD40-2’s.
