Ok now that we all know about BNSF’s new logo. Just mabe someone from the BNSFers’ on this forum can tell me,Why didn’t the BNSF put “RAILWAY” under the “Underscore”? Is the BNSF gona stay with the Black or the Yellow BNSF on the new (GEVO)'s? Thanks.

From what I’ve been told is that it’s now longer the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, but rather just BNSF. Have really got a clear explanation why though.
According to an explanation from one of BNSF’s top HR executives that I met a month or so ago, and from information posted on www.BNSF.com, the name change reflects the reality that most people were already referring to them as the “BNSF” rather than the “Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company.” So it was mainly a matter of convenience.
Although I have no official confirmation of this, I suspect also that the name change was intended to further “mesh” the Burlington Northern operating culture with the Santa Fe one another step further, and break down any remaining psychological barriers among employees and customers that existed between the two immediate predecessor railroads. But that is only an educated guess on my part.
If you are asking about the logo itself, not the name, I really have no clue where they came up with the logo from, but I must say it is really neat (and I am not saying that just because I work for them either).
