Based on Amtrak’s website train tracker it looks like the California Zepyhr runs overnight (#5,#6) detoured on the Union Pacific from Denver to Omaha via Cheyenne. I know that Denver to Salt Lake on UP is a fairly common detour but does anyone know how long its been since there has been a detour on the Omaha-Denver segment?

Denver to Salt Lake over the UP’s x-D&RGW is the normal route for the CZ.

The Texas Eagle ran on the former MKT between Ft. Worth and Temple, TX. in both directions on Sunday March 22. #21 Southbound was on a two hour delayed schedule from Chicago due to the scheduled trackwork in Illinois. #22 Northbound was held at San Antonio for unknown reasons (to me) and arrived Ft. Worth around midnight on Sunday night. The train proceded to Chicago a mere 10 hours late.
