BNSF to run special trains for New Mexico Centennial

Yea for the Big New Santa Fe! (sorry to be corny. Just spent a couple hours watching Pentrex’ “Santa Fe’s New Mexico Mainline” set.)

How 'bout coordinating to borrow the #3751? New Mexico was AT&SF territory.

That should read, Colorado & Southern Rwy, as FW&D ended at Texline, Tx and C&S operated from Sixela, NM (across the border from Texas) Northwestward across Northeastern New Mexico into Colorado.

Four things need to happen to get 3751 to NM…

  1. Owners San Berdoo RHS must agree, '51 be available.
  2. Talk BNSF into allowing a round-trip, busy Transcon move, not easy.
  3. Secure 3751 storage, probably in Abq, but ideal, old ATSF shops still not rebuilt.
  4. Finances. Who pays for '51’s Cal-NM trip?

2926’s Abq rebuild needs a year or two to finish, was to pull a Centennial train statewide. Send money!

Are they going to let passengers ride the trains other than Native Americans? Something as big as a centennial needs something as big as passenger trains for a day trip.
