It would be interesting to know what was learned from all the previous tests. A future topic for TRAINS MAGAZINE, i hope.
With the low cost of natural gas this has to have lots of promise for the Class 1’s. LNG is dangerous if not properly handled and a railroad environment can be a harsh one.

The word PILOT seems misused while observing that list of past tests. I wonder if testing with common mainline locomotives means this program might ACTUALLY lead to something. Testing from 1993 to 2011, you’d think somebody learned something by now.
