Any article in the “Minneapois Star Tribune” on 12/15 states that a BNSF Track Inspector was awarded a large sum after suing the BNSF for harassment due to reporting track defects in the performance of his duties. Does anyone have any more information on this story? It was not in “Trains Newsletter”.

I would expect that this will be appealled. Who he claims harrased him is not clear whether it was his supervision or why. If he was suposed to report defects and they did not want to correct them, then this is bad and it sounds as if this might be a culture of “See no defects, Hear no defects, Fix no defects” until something like the Amtrak derailment occurs. Hope it is not the case.

For the Division Engineer’s ‘performance review’ from his superior to have mentioned the EMPLOYEE by name is beyond incriminating. For the Division Engineer in his conversations with Sanders to imply the Sanders performance would get the DE fired is beyond being a weak management style.

This certainly sounds like a hostile workplace.
