You could run them with a single level.

Have stopped intermodal trains ever toppled in high winds?

Why couldn’t BNSF use the original main thru Raton Pass? At least for the priority interlocks trains.

Raton is single track and in bad condition. Amtrak needs to crawl through Raton. BNSF would LOVE for Amtrak to start using the Southern Transcon from Kansas to Dalies, NM.
