BNSF's heraitage three scheme

Hello modelrailroaders. I seen billons of BNSF locomotives and I have only seen one new heritage locomotive. I thought it was nice looking paint scheme when the train rolled by. What do you guys think of the new heritage BNSF locomotive?

Sincerely

Ryan LaPlaca

This subject has been BEATEN TO DEATH 10 times over. This paint scheme isn’t exactly new anymore as BNSF began using it in January 2005. But I do like it. The new ES GE’s and EMD SD70ACes wear the scheme, along with some SD40-2s, GP38-2s, a DASH8-40CW, GP50 and who knows what else.

You are talking about the “swoosh” scheme right??

Yes he is talking about the ‘New Image’.

I think what you’re talking about is called Heritage 4, though I have yet to see official BNSF documents call it this. Heritage 3 was the same scheme but with BNSF titles in yellow with black outlines. Heritage 4 has the titles in black with yellow outlines.

What’s done is done. I don’t care too much for it in that at least omaha orange and pullman green had some historical legacy to it. I personally think the railroad should have gotten by with BNSF Warbonnett and Heritage I. Heritage II is okay but the green is lighter and the mixing of Santa Fe imagery with Great Northern is not quite that aesthetically pleasing.
