They don’t write songs about railroads or trains anymore, but I’ve got one, or two actually, for BNSF, however they’re only parodies of other train songs.
I’ll get them started and you all can add verses on to them.
(From Orange Blossom Special)
Hey lookie yonder comin’, comin’ down that railroad track Hey lookie yonder comin’, comin’ down that railroad track It’s that orange B-N-S-F, haulin’ them double-stacks
…
Or, my favorite, from The Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe
Do you hear that horn blowin’ down the line? I figure that’s its gotta be an ol’ Dash-nine It’s the only one that’ll sound that way On the Burlington Northern and the Santa Fe
See those double-stacks comin’ round the bend They’ve been to Chicago and back again They’re going all the way to Califor-ni-ay On the Burlington Northern and the Santa Fe
…
(someone get Weird Al or Paul Anka, I think I’ve got a hit song!) [;)]
Ok remember you asked for it-
everybody Limbo
Lets go down with matt and Joe
by the old B&O
which is now csx
and is always in a mess
Where we see the trains go by
and oh my how they fly
with the power of bnsf
and not of csx ha ha ha
(how low can you go)
stay safe
Joe

those yellow engines of up
fur and gat with an x
and other rent a wrecks
matt be nimble matt be quick

as we watch these trains roll and rock
all along the Defiance block.

Anyone recallthe words to the jingle im a cp rail road man from the cp rail
commercials of the late seventys.CP Rail had a singing breakmen.we need to
be proud of our ralroads.
For safetys sake
Second verse, same as the first… another creative burst.
(harmonica break)
Well, they’re goin to Chicago, delivering a load of Nike shoes And out to California, wearing out their old brake shoes They’ll ride that Orange B-N-S-F, and lose those merger blues
(spoken:) “Say there, railroad, when you goin’ to go to New York?” “When am I goin to New York? Don’t know don’t recon I ever will!” “Ain’t you worried about merging with Norfolk Southern?” “Oh, I don’t care if I do-di-do-di-do-di-do-di-do-di!”
Hey talk about a ramblin’, it’s the fastest train in the west Talk about the travelin’, it’s the fastest train in the west It’s the Orange B-N-S-F, speedin’ throughout the west
I’ll stop there before butcher the song any further [;)]
