Bob Boudreau profiled in The East magazine

Longtime readers of Model Railroader, RMC and other publications will be familiar with well-known Canadian model railroader Bob Boudreau. With over 850 photos published in the model railroad press, including 32 covers, he is one of the most prolific photographers in the hobby–and a great modeller, as well.

Bob was recently profiled in a magazine in the Maritimes. Find a link to it, along with some of Bob’s photos, on my blog: http://cprailmmsub.blogspot.ca/2015/05/mr-dressup-fred-penner-annie-lebovitz.html

Well deserved recognition! A terrific photographer and modeler who’s also very generous about sharing his expertise.

Congrats Bob

Always enjoyed your modeling, photography and contributions to the hobby. [tup]

In addition to congratualting Bob for this recognition, I would like to say “Thank you” to him for his photography website. I learned a lot about taking pictures because of that.

I’ll second that. Thanks Bob.

Enjoy

Paul

Name rings a bell, remind those of us who have memory loss! =P

He goes by the handle “RailPhotog” on this forum

ah ok. I recognize that forum name.

Doesn’t he coach the Anaheim Ducks also?

That’s Bruce B, coach of the Ducks.

What Bob Boudreau was able to accomplish before the era of small digital cameras was truly remarkable - but quite apart from pure technique his sense of interesting and “railroady” composition has always been first rate. Witness that great shot of a diesel framed between two snow plows. Good to see him (or any skilled modeler) get this kind of mainstream recognition.

Bob does a better job of assembling the scene, and he builds his own models- so you could say that Annie Liebowitz is the Bob Boudreau of 1:1 scale.
