Bob’s Train Box: Episode 57

Excellent addition to MRV! I happen to be a “if you are happy then it is good enough” railroader - meaning I like scale, but a train is a train and by any other name still runs on rail(s).

I am also of the “100 pt font at 2 inches is just BARELY big enough to read” generation. While I like the SIZE of the descriptions shown while discussing an item, I find the opaque setting blocks the view of the item most, but not all, of the time.

Bob seems like a great guy, but I have zero interest in toy trains, if I did, I would subscribe to Classic Toy Trains instead of Model railroader.

Is that a computer hard drive I see on bobs desk??

Bob’s Train Box is a great addition, thank you. Who knows maybe we may even get a three rail project railroad at some point…

Very cool. While not my scale, I am looking forward to seeing these videos in he future.

Nice addition. This show is like a laid back, less organized version of codys office. Lol. Seriously though, nice to have new content. O scale has always interested me but it is hard for me to get past the 3rd rail

Bob’s is a nice addition to MRVP. “Big” trains aren’t my really my thing, but they do have a charm all their own and still have a powerful appeal to many of us older guys. Bob has a good presence on the video and it looks like he enjoys the trains and making the videos. I will look forward to watching more of these!

Bob seems nice, but I agree with many of the others "Toy trains aren’t my thing ".

Good to see Bob on MRVP. It’s all about model railroading no matter what scale or weather its two or three rail. I think that is the hole intent of MRVP.

Yes I’ll admit it, I love toy trains but I don’t have room for a 3 rail O scale layout. I barely have room for my hollow core door N scale layout. I’ve always been fascinated by Lionel 3 rail O scale, I guess its the juxtapose of O scale trains running in small spaces. I never received the Lionel train set for Christmas, instead Christmas 1967 I received a Athearn HO SD45 train set. Then in 1971 I was introduced to N scale. It’s good to see Classic Toy Trains will also be part of the MR Video Plus line up, a win for all of us closet toy train admirers. Maybe someday I can talk the wife into a classic toy train layout that will fit under the bed in our apartment, until then I can get my fix by watching Toy Train videos on MR video Plus.

Not my thing, but glad to see this here and available to those who enjoy toy trains! Good luck with this new addition!

What are all the rail cuts for in the railroad crossing on the 3 rail O-Scale layout that you ran the Rio Grand 44 Ton on?

I like all scales, and in fact, have some of all. Mostly HO and on30. I never got a Lionel train either. I do have a scar on the back of my head where I fell off of my older brothers bed and landed on a trestle from his Lionel set when I was 3 years old. I’m 59 now and I finally have my own Lionel set. Keep up the good work MRVP. I love the variety.

O is a funny scale, some of the locos and equipment look prototypical and some are just toy like. But what is with the crazy fast speeds I always see folks into O scale running their trains.??? I’d be afraid those trains would depart the train table!

There is something in this video for modelers in any scale. I’m an HO modeler myself and have 3 other scales lying dormant up in my attic. As everyone else noted, Bob has a great on camera presence, and I found the video as entertaining as it was informative. Oh, and I do want to see what’s under that sheet!
