Body recovered from fatal Quebec derailment scene

Thoughts with his family, friends, and fellow railroaders.

MY SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY OF A GALLANT RAILROADER GOD BLESS AND SUSTAIN YOU DURING THIS TIME

Very sorry to hear.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Gagnon’s family, friends and especially his fellow workers.

A sobering reminder to how dangerous this industry can be. Thoughts and prayers to all.

they should have built a snow shed there to prevent this tragedy from happing in my point of view its the companies liability for not removing hazardous loose rock from ledges and its cost them one of there finest employees’ worked on the Bangor and Aroostook railroad for 45 years and have seen many fine men die like this its just a Grimm somber reminder that railroading isn’t for the faint hearted. R.I.P. Mr.Gagon

its too bad I’ve seen over 20 fine young and old men die and they were the best people I’ve ever seen my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, relitives, freinds, and co workers.

Partly the result of a one man crew. In a remote area and one else close by to assist him if he needed it. Sitting in the right hand side of the locomotive right next to the face of the cliff, he’s limited in what he can see up the cliff, as he’s probably looking at the track ahead. A second crew member would have been able to see further up the cliff as he wouldn’t have to be concentrating on the track ahead as much. Could this accident have been prevented, probably with other safety devices involved, but the bottom line rules, in Canada as well as the US.

Slide fences, cheap, reliable, effective. R.I.P. brother.

With another man you would just have had two bodies. A slide fence is the best option, with signals or radio announcements.
