Boeing RR Club Swap Meet Many photos

Here are some early photos from the Boeing Employees St Louis RR swap meet today.

Nice coverage, Thanks for sharing!

What’s up with those skyscapers in the 8th picture? Looks like some type of modular structure. I’d be interested in finding out who makes those.

Those are on a table of “Vic Smith” well known St Louis Area Modler.

There is a few photos of his work on this link I found on this forum.

Also Gary Hoover of Missouri, Kansas & Quincy & Santa Fe fame was there today & was selling off some of his ATSF…Rumor is a switch to N&W!

This is a great swap meet to attend. I strolled in with the 2 boys at about 10:30am and the place was very busy. What I like about it is that there is a nice mixture of professional vendors and hobby shops as well as ordinary folks selling off stuff. My best score yesterday was packages of DPM modular sections at 25 cents each. They were opened, most had some parts used as they were the leftovers from a build. But for $1 I got all the bits I needed to fill a problem space on my layout.

Sadly, the hobby shop from Dupo, Il was there liquidating its inventory at 50% off. The owner has decided to call it a day and shut the place down.

Anyway, all in all a great swap meet run by Boeing model railroad club.

I think this was one of the best swap meets we have had in the last few years.

Too bad about the Dupo Ilinois shop, They were right across the street from the Dupo Yards.

My best buy was a pair of “Blue Box” Custom painted powered PA’S for MKT.

$20 ea.

Also I got two Atlas CB&Q hoppers RTR for $15

My last buy from the same table was two RTR Proto 2000 tank cars for $15.

( he had $8 each on the cars & since I wanted all four cars he let me have them for $30 with out me asking for a discount!)

If all those people are MRRs from Boing, I think I will work for boing.

Looked like fun!
