I hope New York has better luck than Chicago is having with the quality control issues of key parts which were out-sourced to China. Defective castings of key parts of the truck systems that are supposed to keep the cars on the tracks is no small issue. There is a one hundred percent replacement of these defective castings to get the first of the brand new cars back in operation. The CTA detected this major problem not the company which does not speak well for manufacturing quality control.
There have been huge quality issues relating to the new stock for London Underground built at Bombardier’s Derby U.K. facility. Not very re-assuring for New Yorkers !
