I don’t see how NS paint is the boring color. I think its one of the best. I guess you have to grow up around it.
I think the worst paint jobs are: CSX, BN, KCS, UP, just a few to name.
I’ve said it before, I’ve always been partial to the N&W Js. Granted it’s a simple red stripe down the side of a jet black loco but the clean sleek lines are something that is intreguing and powerful at the same time. I’ve always enjoyed it pulling red passenger cars throughout the landscape. I agree with the SP Daylight- very colorful. I"ve also always enjoyed the green of the NYC cars. I can’t really think of any “ugly” trains at the moment.
Most boring…Norfolk Southern black and white,Chessie System blue and yellow,Great Northern sky blue,there are a lot more I can’t think of right now
Most exciting…Without a doubt it is the BNSF Heritage II with the ATSF Warbonnet’s in a close second. I always liked the Soo Line all white w/red trim with big black SOO letters. Another favorite is the Milwaukee Road orange and black.
