Thanks, guys! Best advice: break the joints apart; it was easy. Most of the glue didn’t stick very well, so I can start over by simply reconstructing the model. This time I’ll use CA glue on all the joints. Now I have to build a jig that keeps the walls square and I think I’m in! Whew! that was scary!!
If you plan on having to take the structure apart again, by all means use ca. [:-^] If you want a more permanent assembly, use a solvent-type liquid cement, such as those available from Testors or Plastruct. For styrene, I’ve found ordinary lacquer thinner to work just as well and it’s a lot cheaper.
