Both of Walther's PS 4427 high-side covered hopper models. Wait, what?

I saw noticed that Walthers now has a Platinum line version of the PS 4427 high-side covered hopper, along with the P2K version of the same covered hoppper.

It’s looks to be pretty much the same car, from the same manufactuer, with the same detail. Except the P2K one is 5 bucks less… Wonder why?

Wonder what the difference between them would be, and why the price difference?

I think it is the same car, except for the $5 more thing.

If you go to your second link where they list the P2K cars and click on the available models, you’ll see that all but two say sold out at Walthers. Of the remaining two-packs, one says sold out but also says on sale today. I don’t know how that happens. The remaining two-pack says available but scheduled to be phased out.

So, it appears to me that the names have been changed to charge $5 more to the innocent, but you may arrive at some other conclusion.

Is it just a case of the newer releases going up in price? After all with the economy in the dumps, fuel prices down, housing prices down, why shouldn’t they expect us to pay more? Oh, I forgot, the dollar ain’t worth poop and with all the money printing going on, will be worth even less in the future.
