I would to see the old depot and all the historic Equipment would to see some old ga.railroad
Hello! I’m old enough (at 84) and worked long enough for the
former L&N to remember passenger service through Bowling
Green, as provided by such top trains as The Pan-American,
Humming Bird and South Wind and their Memphis Line connections. I also remember the trip L&N ran on October 24,
1959, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the inaugurationof through passenger service between Louisville and Nashville on October 27, 1859. Our trip (in 1959) was pulled by an IC 4-8-2, No. 2613 (which L&N borrowed for the trips because all L&N steam power had been retired)! We took
water in both directions at Bowling Green, also coal!
This museum, equipment, films, and sales shop are well worth seeing. You can invest a couple of hours there profitably.
Kudos to the Bowling Green Railpark Museum for their hard work in successfully restoring an important relic of the past.
