Boxcars Being Unloaded

Here is a satellite photograph of some boxcars being unloaded.

“Pan left” about 1 frame size from the link to see them. That’s kind of weird to get that angle/ space. Thanks for sharing.

ericsp:

The rolls is the doors of the last car (on west) would appear to be likely in the 90" to 100" range, height (on their ends or as their product width). Judging by the dust collector tubes on the roof; it is likely a Kraft paper board plant ( makes stock for a box manufacturer, or a warehousing operation (might be both type operations?)

It is large enough for a major operator,( ie: Georgia Pacific, Mead, Weyerhauser, etc) Rail would make sense because the plants that make the rolls of new virgin stock are located in the Southeastern US. Different for recycled based products.

Keep panning left/west for a view of intersting UPRR equipment.[;)]

The plant is in fact GP.

Looks like a G-gauge “Eggliner” in UP livery! [swg] [(-D]

When photos from different times are stitched together they make for some interesting views

.

It is a box plant.

Also, if you pan to the right, you can see 14 boxcars on the Prologis spur.

Looks like an “engine” cobbed up by a G Scaler at the Amherst RR show in West Springfield. The cab was complete, but the long hood had been truncated so the whole thing fit over a C truck. Kinda cute.

There are some “continuity” issues on the street crossing to the left of the plant, too…
