I agree, a great-but-for-the-experienced-car-kit builder. Use good, sharp parts nippers to separate detailed parts from sprues. Hardest part for me was getting those coupler lift bars in place (next time, I’ll toss those and use wire ones). Also check wheel size as one kit had wheels rubbing against brake gear yet coupler height was right, and I wound up subbing true 33" wheels.
Yep, me too. In general, Branchline Blueprint Series kits build into beautifully detailed models, but getting all of those details assembled is a challenge. I use +3.25 reading glasses and a magnifying work light to help me see what is going on! As a matter of routine, I replace plastic wheelsets with metal, use a Truck Tuner on the sideframes and check the gauge on the wheelsets before placing any rolling stock into service.
