Branchline Yardmaster Kits

Am working on my first of these kits. Are the wheels sets that come with the kit metal or plastic. They are not magnetic, but are not shiney black, like the plastic axles. They do weigh more closely to a P2K than most of the known plastic wheelsets I have awaiting scenic use.

Thank you,

Richard

I have built one of these kits before ( a NYC 50’ DD Boxcar) and I think the wheels are metal.

Pretty sure any you buy now would have Accumates, since Atlas is selling them. But the ones sold by Brnachline prior to Atlas buying the rolling stock part of the business has EZ Mates. Either way, I repalced them with kadee when I built mine.

Blueprint and Yardmaster both have metal wheels. Note the RTR ones sold as Atlas Master (Blueprint cars) and Trainman (Yardmaster) have metal wheels as well.

Alex, mine was a 40’ NYC box. Afraid I wasn’t impressed with the sliding door, otherwize a very nice car.

Frank, after seeing your list, I looked at the “other side” of the box. A little different version of the list, but it does say metal wheels. Duah! Look around a little fella!!!

Randy, it is one I’ve had around for quite awhile, long before Atlas bought them out. Replaced with #148’s anyhow.

Thank you all,

Richard
