Brass loco rebuilding info needed

I have been given a HO scale PFM 2-8-2 that is in a very sorry state. Rivets are all worn, lead & trailing truck springs are gone, no motor, ect, ect. Does anyone know of a good manual or series of articles on the repair or rebuilding of brass locos? Thanks. John

MR ran a series of articles on building a brass steamer from scratch a while ago. If memory serves me, about 2 years ago. Also you may wi***o leaf through a copy of a Northwest Short Line catalog (online at nwsl.com) to see what parts you may be able to buy to rejuvinate the driveline. Also check and see if any brass dealers are located near you. If they do not do repairs in house, they may have someone locally that can either do the job for you, or assist you in your endeavor.
Good luck!

John;

The Bowser manual is as good as any starting point.

It will give you a good idea how things go together.
