Hmmm… needs paint and a little filing at the solder joints.
Hello yes I like them. I just found some old mantua tankers one box 2 kits .It turnout to be a kit and half owell. Mine only has a brass center everything else is zinc. Are they going to the paint shop next? Good luck with them Frank
hey 0-6-0 and cheese4432
its very difficult getting the buffed up finish
big time on the solder, this tank car is small what is it? 40,000 gal I have no clue
I guess the large gal tank cars are not to popular, when they crash, boom.
I was thinking of taking all the solder off this model and give it a good clean job, I like to fine the correct trucks for this type but its looking like $40 for brass.
these just say japan seem old but well done
K
Don’t worry no one will noice the trucks are the wrong type. Besides a good bit of the solder will be hid by paint except for a few spots.
I think those little ones are around 8000 gallons. Almost looks copper in a couple of those pics.
Looks good!
Hello they look to be the same size as mine.Mine are 8,000 gal.Are you going to buff them to a high finish? I would try a buffing wheel in a dermal but be careful try it on the bottom first .I painted mine black for sun oil. I would clean up the solder but keep it there .I glued mine and you can see the seam at the bottom of the doom .The trucks are sprung cam with kit.Frank[:)]
8000 must be oil
Shiny![:D][:)]
Look-en good so far. How did you get them so shinny? Frank
