On “National Geographic Channel” tonight at 9 through 10 PM Central Daylight time the one hour show “Break It Down” will be about “Rebuilding a 50 year old locomotive”.

Thought I’d pass the info.

Rebuilding a 50 year old locomotive?

That is weird. Unless that is an old program, it would mean that the locomotive was built in 1961. That would seem to rule out steam locomotives. So, what kind of diesel was it?

It was a GP9. It was being broken down and rebuilt as a GenSet locomotive.

The Genset they made looked really sharp. I would not mind having one of them go with my CSX genset

Well, the Chinese Mikado that we’re rebuilding at the Valley RR was built in 1989…
