Bridge collapse closes Norfolk Southern line in Indiana

Some of the rerouted trains went by my backdoor. Other rerouted trains included LR44 a train that shuttles parts between GM’s stamping plant in Marion, In (on the former MYC Michigan Branch) and the Roanoke Assembly plant (on the affected line).

Before anyone asks, NKP765 is scheduled to pull an excursion over this section later this year.

I think the bridge is over Loon Creek, not the Wabash River. Photos I’ve seen are a two-span deck-girder bridge. The ex Wabash RR crosses the Wabash River on a much longer bridge.

Is it possible that anyone got a picture???
