British clockwork

Does anyone know if there are any current manufactures of British ‘O’ scale clockwork locomotives?

None that I currently know of, the only tinplate Briti***rains are made by Bassett Lowke and Ace trains. All are electric driven. I do know that nice BL and Hornby clockwork trains come up for sale on Ebay quite often, and due to their clockwork drive not being as popular as electric, they sell for a cheap price when compared to a electric driven version. Cheers Mike

The assertion that clockwork is cheaper is generally correct. In fact a lot of clockwork Hornby locos are quite reasonable. But the No.2 engines which are considered more prototypical than toylike, are more expensive, although much cheaper than the electric versions.
