Yes i wish they had said in the manual that the decoder is under the rear fans  Out of the box the sounds don’t seem to be in sync and runs really fast, even though it says in the manual its factory default is to run realistic and do its startup before being able to run the loco but that didn’t happen for me :frowning:

I just got mine Factory Direct trains and it looks great but when running in DC it always has to restart just to switch directions. but otherwise I’m very happy with it.

I love it, it runns REALLY smooth, i give the sound system an 8 out of 10! the Lok is better oh and, phillip, the start-up before running thing, it only does that in DC man, not DCC one more thing bachmann decoders DO fit, just very tight. on the E-Z controller by bachmann, you can adress the motor but not the sound, so you have to move what-ever is already on 3 to some other number, well happy running!

Oh, i forgot, in DC (out of the box) nothing goes good, the sounds are waaaaay off, so you almost HAVE to switch it to DCC! once you do, it runs great!

I have a CSX and it is the best locomotive that i have even set my eyes upon. The horn sounds exactly like the real thing, engine is very realistic and i like the ditch light effects except that the ditch lights turn off to quickly. I resoved this problem by Progaming the sound decoder cv226 to the value of 1 wich works. when you progam the ditch lights to this number the ditch lights will turn on when you turn on the bell.

I got a CP AC6000 from Factory Direct Trains last spring and I love everything about it. I love the sound, the pulling power and the detail of the loco. It has a great paint job as well. I agree with the previous commentator, Kelly Hayes…I wish that it did not have to restart when I changed directions. As an aside, I liked it so much I bought an RS-15 (CN Rail) in the summer and it is a fabulous model too. By the way, I have nothing but good things to say about Factory Direct and their service to Canada.

I purchased 2 of these AC6000 (CP Rail) for my heavy container trains. They work great!!
To convert to DCC using Digitrax Empire Builder command station and a Digitrax DZ123PS decoder I did the following.
First, take the new DC loco out of the box and place it on the program track. Click program key until you see Pd on the screen. Enter the 4 digit address, click enter. This will give the sound decoder it’s address.
Next, remove the loco from the track and then it’s fan housing, followed by the DC 8 pin board. Leave J1 alone for sound decoder lights. Install the DZ123PS, orange wire #1 in the sound board at this time, tuck under shell and replace fan housing.
Next, place the loco back on the program track and click program until you see Pg now enter the SAME 4 digit address for the motor address. Now, both decoders have the same address. That’s it, your ready to roll.
The secret is all CV adjustments for the Digitrax motor decoder must be done on the program track in Pg (paged mode). All CV ajustments for the Blue Line sound decoder must be done in the Po (ops mode) on the main or program track.
I strongly recommend the latter or removing all other loco’s from the layout when making Po ajustments.

Good review Brooks. Thanks for the insight. And thanks everyone else for your input and comments!

Nice engine, grandchildren are going to love it.
