I sure would like to see this in C&O livery.
Works great in my yard, slow speed is outstanding. I will be getting another one to work with my first.
This BLI SW7 is a fine model with Industry leading features that make it a joy to operate. I have found BLI HO products to be feature rich leaders in the industry but other manufacturers are stepping up to the plate as well i.e. Athearn, Intermountain, Bowser, Atlas, MTH to name a few. The Paragone 2 electronics from BLI has been “cutting edge” in the industry since it’s conception and continues to perform well. The molded detail in some BLI models is not as crisp as others but all are very good. BLI is always improving and priced competitively. I own several BLI models and I am happy with them all.
Looks like a very nice piece of equipment but they still miss the old names as Great Northern, Northern Pacific and Milwaukee Road… I’m modelling those railways and sometimes I find quite difficult to find switchers of those companies.

My two UP SW7 have just arrived from the USA: they are absolutely excellent, sound has really improved as compared to the 2005 Paragon model. I will buy other two.

Just a great model. Definitely had to lower the master volume. Slow speed is excellent. I’ve found that the top speed is fine for yard and industrial area use which is what I use it for

I find this particular locomotive to be an excellent model. The only negative I found was the very slow speed. I could not get it to go above 22 mph. This is great for switching, but can be a negative when out on the road.
I love the sounds available. The radio chatter fits right in with my railroad. I found I did have to hit F6 each time to avoid getting a very high engine RPM, but it doesn’t really bother me.
Depending on the trucks and wheels one uses, it will pull about 12 to 15 cars on level track.

Once I reduced the master sound volume, I have been very pleased with my UP SW-7. The low speed performance is very impressive, very slow and very smooth. The CV’s already programmed into the unit give excellent sounds, as indicated in the review article.

Bought 2 UPs from Factory Direct for 50% off.
Cute switchers for Mike Hughes and me.

I enjoy this as a fun model to operate, but the voltage requirements in DC mode made it dificult to use in switching. I have no complaints in DCC mode operations. I was a bit disappointed in the model’s pulling power - it slipped pulling five cars up a 2% grade. That said, it is a great model for yard switching; just don;t expect to do much road work or transfers unless you are on the level.
All in all, though a great sounding and operating engine.

Exelent locomotive, good sound. Perhaps it will need more final speed for main operation.
It was impossible change the addrsss with a Digitrax Zephyr in Page mode or in in OPS mode, so I’m still using the 03 addres’.
Someone can help me with this problem?
