Not a bad engine, but maybe a little more details should be applied. Good sound effects!
I also have one of these as well plus several other Paragon2 locos. Let me tell you, no disapointments here fellas. These are great running locos and will start moving at notch one speed step 128 with MRC Prodigy AD. If you want slow speed for switching, these are it.
Received a pair of these for my Birthday from Joe Grubba’s North Carolina Estate, { AKA }, Factory Direct Trains .I was not sure what to do with them since they don’t really fit my transision era railroad. Recently removed them from their shipping cartons , performed a few CV adjustments , lashed them together , nose to nose , and had some fun in the logging area , I was impressed enough to set about converting them to full time loggers with added details such as Dynamic brake Units and hood mounted air tanks , much like Canfor’s Custom Built SW 1500’s. The digital sounds are great , performance even better , I experianced no problems through any of my multipal #6 turnouts I use for switchbacks , all frogs are switched and powered via the tortise switch machines internal wipers. The old PFM Shay’s and Climax are getting a well deserved rest at the falling down Engine house . A very good Switcher without doing anything to it . I did have to lower the volume so I could hear my wife call out the “honey do” list ! No negatives to report , wish I had opened the boxes sooner ! Wildman Jim
