Broadway Limited NW2/7

I am about to order a Northern Pacific NW2 from Factory Direct for 125$ with sound with my first ever paycheck! I was wondering what your guys thoughts were on these units. Sound/Performance/Detail/ETC.

Thank you.

Milw.:I am very happy with my pair of GN NW2’s from BLI. I have used them for two years at large Free-mo modular setups. They are great and will usually pull a string of 20 cars if they are properly weighted and have metal wheels. I used one at each end of a 28 foot yard. I hope you enjoy yours! jc5729 John Colley, Port Townsend, WA

Well congratulations on your first paycheck!!

The NW-2 is a good choice…as is Northern Pacific of course!! I have an NW-2 that I run by itself or back to back with a Proto SW-7. It runs very well, is very slow and smooth (I think top speed is about 30 MPH on DCC). It takes sharp curves with no problem, in 2006 I used it on a loop of 18" radius track around the Xmas tree.

Thanks guys!

I use two of them together in the B&O. They do well.

Better get the QSI’s while you can, Ive a feeling that there will be no more of those switchers… only Blueline in the future. You get to install a motor decoder of your choice.

Congrats on your first paycheck. I recall mine… long long long time ago. I think I scraped at something like 3.00 an hour only to see half of it vanish in taxes. UGH. However it served it’s purpose on dates and such at that young age.

Yeah taxes are terrible! I feel the adult pain of taxes. Haha.

I have to get a motor decoder? I thought that was just for blueline?

Only for blueline that their forums are saying soon to be released. No more QSI reruns of NW switchers.

I’m talking about the regular NW2 with sound… will I have to get a mobile decoder for it, or is it “good to go?”

No it’s good to go… relax and enjoy it.
