Hi

I need a little help here I think. I have just got myself a nice new BLI GS-4 Daylight, veeeeeeery nice. I’m having a little trouble setting up the smoke output to my satisfaction though. I;m playing around with CVs 234, 235, 236 and 237. The idle fan speed seems like it’s all or nothing. If I set it high enough to have a good plume at idle it over runs the chuffs while moving, if I set it so the chuffs are distinguishable when moving then at idle there is nothing. I have 2 MTH steamers that work wonderfully so I’m trying to get the BLI to be like those. Am I missing something?

Hi Dan,

I have several BLI steamers with smoke and have tried tweeking the CVs to maximize the smoke output in the past. I now, however, just leave them set to their default settings. I was able to get a small improvement in the smoke output, but by increasing things like the heat level and time on for the fan I was afraid I was most likely shortening the life of the smoke generator.
