Anders,

[#welcome] to the forum! Good to have you aboard! [:)]

The Broadway Limited (BLI) locomotives are great machines. I have a BLI 2-8-2 “Light” Mikado (w/ sound) and enjoy it very much.

There’s another fellow here on the forum who is from Sweden also. His name is electrolove and models the Durango & Rio Grande Western.

Please make yourself at home and come back and visit us often. [:D]

BLI locos are great fun. I have two SD40-2’s with sound a J class 4-8-4 and soon a C30-7. I use Lenz decoders for most non sound loco’s and really enjoy them too.

Welcome to the forum, Ken.

Thanks Tom!
I am thinking too to buy an mikado locomotiv PRR from Trix or and BLI,but there is other modells too from BLI who has PRR models!

Yea I have a few of the PRR’s

Welcome to the forums!

Anders,

I believe that BLI or Precision Craft Model (basically the same company) came out with the PRR K4 that looks very nice. I would stick with the BLI Mike. You can find it cheaper than the Trix for about ~$200 discounted. (I found mine for $160) The Trix Mikado is at least 2.5X that but not 2.5X better.

Hi, Anders. Look at BLI’s site, and check out the prices and availability of refurbished models on “Outlet Direct”. I just got a super BLI PRR J1 in brand-new condition…in fact, I’m sure it is new. If money is an issue for you, Outlet Direct often has the model you might be seeking, and for 40% off the usual price.

Anders,
Are you going to model PRR? If so, make sure you have adequate clearences for pantographs.(I know most of Europe’s motive power is electric just didn’t know which way you were going power-wise) Pennsy’s GG-1 electric loco achieved model icon status in U.S. early on. As would happen BLI offers the GG-1 in several schemes.
Your consideration of Mikado in PRR guise is great-both light Mike and heavy Mike BLI models have been praised on the forum. I have the BLI light Mike and it is absolutely a great performer.(nice that it has working front coupler-makes double heading a bit easier to accomplish prototypically) I would also recommend BLI’s PRR M1a, M1b. Wheel arrangement is 4-8-2 and engine is quite impressive with the transcontinental tender with doghouse. PRR people called the tender transcontinental because of its huge size not because Pennsy was transcontinental. I have BLI’s M1b it is another great performer with great sound.
Much mention has been made on the forum about Trainworld’s(mail order business) BLI clearence sales-first the BLI NYC Hudson at $129.00 and now PRR’s K4 at $229.00. Don’t know whether Trainworld does overseas sales. With “world” in its na

Anders,
Let me join in to bid you welcome to the forum. The more the merrier!
I have two BLI locos, a NYC Heavy Mike and a NYC Hudson. Both are great. Except to turn down the sound and program in the road number, they have operated perfectly right out of the box. You will enjoy yours, sound or no sound.
Again, welcome.

Welcome to the forum Anders!![#welcome]. You have made a good choice with BLI locomotives, I have two and they run great. I will beinstalling a Soundtraxx Tsunami decoder in one of the locos soon, can’t wait to hear that engine roar.

Welcome, Anders–I think that you’ll like the BLI locos–I’ve got several on the Yuba Sub, and they are nice runners, and if you decide on sound, I think you’ll be pleased with their total performance.
Keep us informed of your progress. I hope you can connect up with Electrolove in your country, he’s certainly progressing on his layout.
Again, welcome.

Hi members!
Thank you for the answer to me! [:D]
I was today in the hobbyshop and looking for an modell from Trix, that is an Mikado.
The sound generator was not so good as i was thinking.SIGH!!!
BLI has better sound and of course, better way too by programming locomotiv. If i am thinking after,it`s better by placement money on the BLI modells! [:D]
Have a nice day!
