Broadway T-1

Am considering the purchase of a Broadway Limited T-1. My minimum radius are 23-24 inches and have some steeper grades. Plan on pulling 5-6 car consists. Anyone who has one is invited to offer comments. Would you purchase yours again if you had the option? Is the skirting removable? Best Holiday Wishes-

I have one and love it. Having said that , I have some questions as to why you want one. They are unique to a short time period on PRR. You are about at the bare minimum radius and it is going to be very ungainly at that tight radius. You worry me a lot when you say steep grades. Usually people vastly underestimate the grade. They can be equipped with traction tires (which I hate) but this is a long loco that will require very smooth transitions on and off any grade. My opinion is that unless you have a need for this particular loco. you may well be better off spending money on something else. By the way, it is diecast so any modification is very tough.

Check BLI’s Outlet Direct. One is listed as a return that you can get for 40% off if it is still available. Full warranty.

Thanks for your responses. I thought the T-1 looked pretty cool. They ran thru Ohio, but I don’t recall ever seeing one. I am sure you are correct about the transitions for the grades. I haven’t measured my grades–but I should work more on the transitions as you say. I was in a hurry to get something running–ever happen to you? Best wishes

I Have one and love to watch it run.The sound is great and it has great pulling power It will however find every flaw in your track work Everyone should have one of these locos Then we’d all be better track layers
