Brookville BL36PH Close to Delivery

Brookville has completed their first BL36PH for Florida’s Tri-Rail.

Unfortunately, I am unable to find an article other than the News Wire one, but they look pretty close to the mockup halfway down the page on Brookville’s website: http://www.brookvillecorp.com/locomotive-passenger.asp

I’ll try to keep looking for a new article. Thoughts on their appearance?

Looks like an F59PH, so what?

Where do their trucks and prime movers come from?

The prime movers are MTU, and the trucks are unique to Brookville (but look quite like Blombergs)

The Prime Movers will be V20 MTU 4000 Series Engines

Based on the table:

http://www.mtu-online.com/mtu/products/diesel-engines-overview/general-purpose-diesel-engines/4000/

it appears they are 4000-03.

Here are the artist renderings:http://www.vergarastudio.com/pdf/Brookville_BL36PH.pdf

The units look slightly different built, with a hump behind the cab, and no lights over the windshields.

Still little else online…

Gotta love a pilot plow for service in FL… What are we plowing?

Plow pilots are not strictly for snow.

Very effective for removing Cars and other debris from the tracks that you might find on the rails as I have been told. Down in Florida who knows what they might find.

Slow tourists.

Still very little online.

Only thing online is subchat, still, but here is a picture:http://www.subchat.com/read.asp?Id=1229224

Just in case anyone is still following this…

A better (and IMHO more flattering) picture is here:http://www.railpictures.net/photo/441798
