Untill 1975 when the Cleveland RTA took over…Shaker Hts had about 40,000 rather well off people at the time but it made more seance as costs went up to merge into a RTA

Red Line is the “heavy rail” line that goes to the Airport. East-west line.
The Blue and Green line use Breda LRV’s and are the old Shaker system with an extention now downtown to the Riverfront area.

First cars (1955 or so) were from St. Louis (orders of single cars and married pairs); then the “Airporter” cars (all singles) came from Pullman-Standard. Current fleet is Tokyu car. Art
