Building a horse carier car

My daughter and I went to the Amherst Railway Society show a few weeks ago looking for a horse carrier similar to the one’s found in the old (or new!) general sets. We had no luck. Not a one to be found! So, in my wisdom I promised her “We can build one of those!” Well, this morning she called me on it!

A (not so) quick trip out to the LHS and we came home with some StripStyrene and went to work. I grabbed an exacto knife, the plastic model glue, miniclamps, and a cutting board and went to town on my old 6826 flatcar. Here are some shots:

Once the glue dries we’ll pull it off the car, give it a few coats of paint, and we’ll be ready to haul those ponies!

Neat idea. Isn’t it fun to take the flat cars and make something unique with them. [:D]

Nicely done! Isn’t it fun to run a train of ‘differented’ flats?
