The structure I am building is the JL designs #341 “Brownies northside service”. It involves gluing the styrene cast window wall to a wooden lower wall and to that, a vertical cast metal door and transom. I want to pre paint all of these but what glue to use still puzzles me.
Elmer’s white glue works great. I apply it with a toothpick. It dries clear and holds firmly.
I still use Rockler’s super thick Super glue with accelerator. I keep trying other things and they all work, but the ability to put a super tiny bead of glue, straight from the bottle exactly where I want it, keeps bringing me back. I do not spray on accelerator if the part will sit there for a couple minutes.
Bruce - By a very wide margin the best choice for bonding dissimilar materials such as these is Pacer’s Formula ‘560’ Canopy Glue. It bonds virtually anything to anything else solidly, dries completely clear and will not craze, or discolor the materials involved. I find it has numerous other applications in my scratch and kit building as well.

ArtHill, Two questions, with what do you apply this super thick ACC? We do not have a Rocklers up here and they won’t ship ACC to Canada. Is it just a thick ACC?
I agree completely. Canopy glue is the adhesive I use to completely assemble wood models, even to make “glass” for the windows.
