Building Bay Junction part 2

It’s good to see the challenges faced by the staff, especially the grafting of the turret onto the station building that Neil is working on. I hope you show the trials and successes of things you tried but didn’t quite work out over the build to remind those newer to the hobby that sometimes things may not work out, even for experienced modellers, but with a bit of thinking and a steady approach, you can break something complex into a set of simpler tasks. I have sent several kits to the scrap bin because I rushed at things rather than planning the steps I needed to take and checking the fit before I got out the glue.

Verrrrrry Interrrrestink! I await the Jan 2011 MR with great anticipation. Funny, but when Neil said the station was between the two railroads, I immediately thought of taking TWO station kits… setting them up with a bay-window-wall on each side, one of the “other walls” across the wide side, and a narrow wall at one end. Thus a roughly triangular building, with operator offices for each railroad at the narrow end, and a wide wall for the freight segment, and passenger room in between.
No matter, I really am anxious to see Anonymous Junction through the coming months!

Outstanding how to!!! Lets keep it real. set backs should be included. I think a lot of modeler’s who read Model Railroading would stop being decouraged on thier layout’s seeing your staff having trouble with something. I know that I have been trying to be to perfect with my own layout. so it looks like one of your perfect layouts from the Magizine

looking forward to see it go together have fun guys. we are in the processof building another layout. a lady of our little get together is getting the mrr hobby bug got area cleared out for a 2x6 table layout n-scale.thku crt/friends 4m 4w

This is one of the best ideas ever. I like to see videos of projects nd this looks to be a great one.

Thanks

Two things…

I was surprised that in such a well equipped workshop the lighting that both Cody and Neil were working under was fairly dismal. I find that when I’m modelling I can barely have enough light… and I have good eyesight!

Secondly, why was Cody wearing eye protection? Obviously he was getting ready to spraypaint but it just looked funny to be wearing goggles just to mask a structure.

As Peter said, its good to see the staff all working on various projects but seeing them in action is great. Its easy to develope a vision of someone like Neil just sitting behind his desk doing nothing but paper work so…good luck with that project Neil, I had my own problems with that section of building too. Great work guys.

great to see the whole crew investing time in the project, it means to the rest of us out here your not just a bunch of pretty faces. Keep up the the great work guys,I watch all the time and enjoy.

My question is not about the new layout, Which looks like it’s going to be great. The question is : When you log in to MRR You can only look at one article, then log out and log in again to look at the next one, and so on for the others . Can this be changed to log in one time and see all of the articles, one behind the other. Thank You Steve

How cool are you folks getting paid by working for a model train book company to do a layouts. I am very jealous.

As former Safety person I think it is graet to see Cody wearing goggles. Sets a good example.

Nicely done. I am glad to see the in-progress kit-bashing and painting prep, but would also like to see how the tear-out was done.

As a beginner, putting it in is hard enough, but the thought of taking parts out and re-doing it is frightful. I am getting the “can’t do it unless it’s perfect” modeler’s block, and seeing a re-do might allow me to proceed without being scared that it’s not good enough.

Thanks for your work and excellent content that you bring.

Phil

It looks like NONAMEE Junction is coming right along. Keep up the excellent work!

Reading the articles inyour magazine is great but seeing them in video form gives the viewer a different perspective.
Great job guys! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

I too, have one of the turrets that Neil is working with. I’ll be interested to see where his thoughts end up.

I just joined and checking things out for the first time. I see and read the articles put together by the staff at the magazine. It’s nice to actually see a video of a project and finally put some voices to everyone who writes the colums for Model Railroader.

I always enjoy seeing the different stages of a project. It is so nice to put voices to the people that write for the magazine. I find the articles in the Model Railroader Magazine both interesting, informative and an inspiration to the hobby. Keep up the great work guys.

Happy Thanksgiving one and all! I found this to be very motivating and I’ll be checking back to see the progress and looking forward to the Jan. 2011 issue.
