Building Details

Hello all,

I need a good source for O scale building details such as windows, doors, arches and such. Can anyone recommend a company or website? Also I’m looking for an O scale fire escape and any sources for that is also appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There are two company’s I know of, one is Grandt Line Products and
the other is Evergreen Scale Models. Try them they may have what you are
looking for?
They both have a web-site. Boy I wish I knew how to post a link!
Hope this helps.

Hey Keith, we’ll get Spankybird to teach us that. The picture thing has gotten easy if you do it a lot.

Keith, link posting is automatic. Just type in the URL or you can cut and paste. www.walthers.com carries both lines, though the manufacturer’s own sites are better most of the time, because better photos and information is listed. Walthers carries almost everything, and can’t go into too much detail on their site.

One key to posting links is to make sure that no punctuation marks come in contact with it especially period at the end of the sentence. Use the preview button and click on your link to test that it works, it should take you right to the site.[:)]

Frank, links are 10,000 times easier than pictures.[;)]

Thanks guys, I will check them out.

I don’t have an answer to your question but there are some things that they don’t sell that you have to do yourself. I found an interesting bunch of tips here:

In addition to Evergreen and Grandtline, try Schomberg, Oak Ridge Hobbies (large O scale section with pics/drawings of detail parts) and Builders-in-Scale (now part of C.C. Crow). Also, for convenience and some discount, try Valleymodeltrains.com. Dozens of O scale manufacturers including some of the above. There was a company that sometimes had an O scale fire escape. I think it was part of Jax Industries, but I can’t seem to find them.

Just figured out the O scale fire escape resource. It’s from Jaks Industries (I had the spelling wrong) and it’s made by Milepost Model Works. You can also get on the list from Walthers.com. Just search fire escape and scroll down to Walthers. You’ll see the item is backordered but you still order it. Hope this helps.
