Building identification help

I received this building from a friend of mine and he could not recall the building name or the manufacturer.

Any members here know any information on this building?

Thanks,

Barry

Barry,

Very interesting looking building my first inclination would be to say it’s a DPM kit but after looking through all of their buildings on the W/S website I found nothing that even came close to matching. It could be a kit bashed model but I know I have seen it or something close to it before. I am going to take a stab and say it may be an old Magnuson kit. Now you’ve got my curiosity stirred up

I agree it looks like DPM but am not sure of the model. I have never seen the spirals on top before.

Barry,

You’ve got an old Lytler & Lytler craftsman kit (long out of business), #7701 “Hardware Store.”

I believe those were made of resin, with soft metal details, so you will want to take that into consideration when finishing up your model.

It’s a very beautiful building!

Thanks to all that have responded. The gentleman that gave it to me thought it had been out of production over 30 years and could not remember. I will have to email him about it and find out if that name is what he may remember of it. I noticed the finials and other detail parts were of a soft metal and the kit itself is quite heavy too. I shall have to figure out a plan to finish this as it is quite unique. Thanks all for your responses this was a great learning experience.

Markgro,

You were correct the friend that gave it to me remembered after I emailed him with the name of the manufacturer and the name of the building. He thought they have been out of business over 30 years and at the time only offered two buildings. He also thought he had to cut in the windows too, tho he wasn’t sure.

Thanks to all on this.

Barry
