Building interiors

Good morning. I am back after a few days off due to the death of my grandmother, I would say Thanks for all the support. I an scratch building a building for the Coleman Fuel Co. and would like some ideas for the interior walls, somehthing except simply painting. Is there a place on line that wallpaper or the such can be downloaded and printed? Any suggestions for the inside walls? I got my windows in the mail this morning from Tichy, and am still waiting on the cedar shingles. Thanks for the help. Mike

Mike,
My Condolences to you I must have missed a post about that.

As for interior there are programs for that I myself make my own so I wont buy any when I have the skill it seems or so everyone tells me I do. Just measure the real thing like wallpaper spacing use scale ruler and size it down. Now after that take the scale ruler place it under the regular ruler and measure. Thats what I do no math no nothing…

I prefer doing my own because I can be creative…

Mike,

I, too, am sorry to hear about your grandmother. Trust you had a good visit with your family, under the circumstances. (With families scattered about these days across the country, it’s sorta interesting how funerals often turn out to be family reunions. Even so, I am sorry for your loss.)

If you have a word processor on your computer, you should be able to find a template or some clip art that has a repeatable pattern in it that would resemble something on wall paper. Scale it to the right approximate size and frequency, print it out and cut it to the shape of your inside wall.

Mike I am sure you sawmy post with the interior of Tomatso’s

And my newer building

if you need some help contact me offline through the forum.

Thanks for the response, I’m not quite sure what you are talking about. I guess I don’t what I want. Here a couple of pic of what I have so far.

I do have a print shop on the computer and have used it to bake the brick add sometimes shingles but I am pulling a big blank on what to do with the interior, there isn’t going to be a whole lot you can see through the small windows but I would like for it to appear as though there is something inside. Thanks Mike

One kinda “quick and sleazy” way to do interior walls is using colored 3" x 5" cards. Come in a variety of colors, striping looks a little like wallpaper if you do it vertically. If you don’t have huge windows in the building and/or it isn’t going to be right next to the aisle, it can work quite well for coloring interior walls…and with a little bracing can serve as divider walls within the building too !!

Here is a posting with some Ideas.

Mike,

I have used foam core board for walls inside the building and I have used cardstock it all depends how much you want to spend on the material and how much time and ability you have.,y buildings look like they took days but with CD X3 it took me no time at all after figuring what I wanted. Luckily Corel Draw X3 comes with lots of artowrk and designs of such. And luckily I get slep insomnia once in awhile to work on these things at night.

Mike you have my condolences for the loss of your grandmother. My prayers are with you and your family. Dave

Mike, Going thru a simular situation right now. I’m assembling about 2 blocks of commercial buildings & want to add some detail to make them look as if they are not deserted. I made several searches …store interiors…wood floors…wallpaper…etc. The easyiest way for me is to shrink them down in word. You can also repeat them by copying them & dragging more of the same picture in. I’m sure there is a better way to do this , but it works for me. If you dont light the building you really can’t see much. I also got some curtains etc. from kibri. They are the right size, just cut & glue. With the lack of light & the curtains or shades you really can’t see much. Jerry
