Just wondering, how many of you glue down your figures and buildings?
I glue down my figures, but not my buildings. I don’t glue down my automobiles, either. Since I use figures without base plates, they really won’t stand up by themselves. I use Aileen’s Tacky Glue to hold them down, by the way. It sets up quickly and generally holds the figures in place, but if I need to remove them they come up easily enough. Also, if I accidentally knock something against a figure, the whole figure will come loose. If I glue them down with CA or another more permanent glue, then such impacts often leave feet or even legs attached to the layout while the rest of the figure breaks away.
You can get these little containers of a soft sticky wax from the Dollhouse people. I think its actually called mortuary wax that will hold little people quite nicely yet still allow them to be moveable.
Guilty on both counts. I glue the buildings down with white glue so they just snap loose if I have to perform some kind of man=maintenance on them, such as changing light bulbs. To re-seat the building I just wet the glue and press the building back down into it. The glue dries and becomes clear, leaving no traces.
