I wonder how much it costs to move a caboose?

Easily several thousand or more dollars for a moving company to left and load it onto a trailer, the trucking, and the crane rental. I doubt it could be made ready for legal interchange without spending even more. It could be loaded onto a proper railroad flatcar too.

This item wouldn’t have been newsworthy 20 years ago. I started railroading in 1973 …how times have changed.

Maybe the Midwest Central will repaint it in it’s orignal GN color.

The news release is wrong. Burlington & Missouri River Railway Museum is the new owner, not Midwest Central RR. It will be painted in it’s original GN colors.
