Burlington Northern Rapido Commuter cars

Seen these at N scale (hard to find) but as yet not in the sought after HO scale. ??? Anyone Thanks

Send an email to Jason at Rapido. He is very good at responding.

From what I can find, these needed to be pre-orded by mid-November 2023, and were sent out in early 2024. Rapido shows them as “out of stock”. Unless they do another run of them, I guess you’ll just need to keep checking Ebay and train shows to see if they turn up.

Good suggestion, but good luck on eBay. After Rapido issued HO scale Monon cars and I failed to act, I looked on eBay for years with no luck.

Found the Atlas version on eBay. Going for about a 100.00 a piece. One guy is trying to sell the cab car for 375.00. That’s ridiculous!!! The price fixing on eBay with what they think it should sell doesn’t help any either. Arrg !!

If you want the more representative value on eBay, check for similar Sales and Completed Items to see what actually sells and what a buyer pays. Looking at Active listings tells you nothing about the true value.

I always do that …another tip is to put it in the watchlist and I’ll bait the seller for an incentive discount. The first discount is usually 5 percent or so not even a tax amount. But I’ve received discounts in actual dollars as well. G.

So are the show prices typically better? I had a chance to go to the Sacramento show last month but decided not to as I didn’t trust myself with the pocket at the time.

Yep, I have been on both sides of that equation, both buyer and seller. eBay requires a minimum on 5% discount if you make an offer to Watchers. Of course, Watchers are not always Buyers. They may be simply watching out of curiosity or contemplating selling a similar item. The more Watchers, the more likely an eventual sale, though not always. I recently made a few sales, and quickly, by making an offer to several Watchers. If a Watcher is serious, he will act quickly, knowing that others got the same offer. One thing is for certain in my selling experience. I have never wound up selling an item to someone who has asked a question. Never. I continue to answer questions out of courtesy, but a sale has never occurred to a questioner.

That’s freaking awesome thanks tip. Tip one in your favor. G.
