Except in this case, I don’t have the answer. Found this grab shot in my dad’s stuff, taken in the early 1980s (probably 1981) around the time he was travelling a lot for work. Some TO folks have helped narrow it down to probably Eastern Washington or Eastern Oregon… but I’d really love to nail down the exact locale.

Have your tried zooming in on the licence plates? Some states, like mine, use certain prefixes in specific locations.

Certainly looks alot like Cheney, Washington on the old NP main with the train coming from Spokane.

I think we now have a hit… someone on another list said it was across from where they work in Moscow, ID. I’ve looked at Google Earth and it matches exactly (sadly the tracks are now gone).

I will take one more guess how about Ritzville,Washington not Cheney. And the RR tracks are still their.

Thanks, Al… but I’m 100% sure it’s Moscow now. The Google Earth image matches the picture almost perfectly (except that the tracks are now gone… SAD…)
