Burlington Northern

Hello,

Any fellow BN modelers out there?

Mark

right here. i’m modeling BN/BNSF with some NS thrown into the mix. all but 2 of my locos are BN/BNSF related. (Rock Island GP7 and Norfolk Southern GP60) the rest are 2 BNs 2 BNSF and 2 CB&Q.

thats just my motive power, as for what i model, no idea yet, mainly grain though.

Very nice.

Not I. Too much green! [xx(]

I stick with the CB&Q.

Hi, BN is my main rialroad with interchanges with UP and SF. I also do some MEC, BAR and any thing local to Maine. I have a small layout about 8 x 10 x 12, which is still under construction. It will be a switching interchange layout with no real main line running. Go Red Sox’s

I am and I’m proud of it! I have a decently small roster:
1 Athearn GP38-2 BN
1 Athearn GP50 (project) BN
1 Athearn GP40-2 BN
1 Athearn U28B BN
1 Athearn switcher BN
1 MRC F7A BN
1 Athearn F7B BN
I am hoping to get some SD40-2s sometime in the future. I would really like a SD60M, but I don’t think my curve radii on my layout will handle them.

Not BN, but I have 3 Colorado and Southern steam locomotives on my roster as part of a lend-lease WWII program between C&S and Rio Grande. A 2-8-2 and 2 2-10-2’s. Handsome power, those Burlington steamers!

P.S. I think the BNSF “Heritage” orange and green is about the handsomest paint job of any current railroad.

Yep, that’s what I model along with UP

Well, I’m pretty partial to the old Milwaukee Road, but growing up in the shadow of the BN I’ll always be a fan. I still remember the cabooses.

Is Burlington Northern still a railroad, or is it all called just BNSF?

I am an avid Burlington Northern modeler and historian. Check out my profile.

ATSF and BN are BNSF.

I might have a BN SD40-2 or '70MAC on my layout, but most of it is Conrail.

Yep - been modeling Burlington Northern about 20+ years now here in sunny Western Australia. Am between layouts right now - my last one earned a “best small layout” at recent train show here - it was about 18" by 12’.

Am waiting to get a new house underway where i’ll get a 5m x 6.3m train room - yippee (no basements here). Am thinking of basing the new layout on the “Funnel” in Idaho / Washington - I like the NW scenery.

I have approx 25-30 locos (80% BN) and about 150 freight cars ready to roll for the next layout.
